What is a Medicare Advantage Plan?
These health plans (HMOs, PPOs, PFFS, SNP, and MA plans) are run by private
insurance companies and approved by Medicare. They are an alternative to
and actually pay in place of Medicare. They may differ in several ways. You
must continue to pay your Medicare part B premium. You may have out of
pocket costs, cost sharing, provider networks, and may or may
not have prescription coverage included in your plan.
Why should you consider buying a Medicare Advantage Plan?
Clients who want to keep monthly premiums low while still providing a cap on
health care costs may want to consider buying one of these plans. Medicare Advantage plans generally provide more benefits
than original Medicare. These plans may work better for people who are in good health.
